My daughter (Jonni)
has been working with polymer clay almost as long as I have. I began
working with clay for about 10 years. She is 13 years old now and
has been interested since she was about six.

The
first picture is of a mermaid she created a few years ago after a trip
to the beach. You can tell from the size of the penny how tiny she is!
The
next picture is an elephant she created when all I would share with her
was some gray scrap clay! This piece is one of the first things she made.
Picture
number three is the cover a book she created for the Young Authors Conference
in the year 2000. The story was her version of Cinderella. The characters
were all cats. At the end of the story Cinderella drinks from a magic well
and becomes a princess just in time to meet a prince!
The
final picture I'm sharing is of a bear she created just a few months ago.
The arms and legs are movable! As you can tell I'm very proud of my daughter
and am learning from her constantly. I have a space in my studio for her
and hope she will continue to work with clay by my side for years to come!
