Ryan,
a 10 year old young man, comes to Michele Wilcox's adult online clay class
at a craft site called Krafty
Kreations. Ryan's mom, Shari, decided to give a clay class a try and
found she really enjoyed it. While watching her clay along with the class,
Ryan became interested too. Now they clay and learn together. Ryan has
become very good as you can see from his reindeer ornament he made recently. |
As
Ryan puts it: "I started to like clay when I wanted to do something
different than drawing. I started doing clay by thinking of
my drawings and making them out of clay like my reindeer. I also
did a class with my mom to make a snowman. I think clay is cool because
I get to think of my own ideas." |
| I think Ryan is on his way to becoming
quite the clay artist. I really enjoy inspiring children to explore their
creativity. -- Michele Wilcox (ravey1) |

My kids sold their clay works
at the "Pumpkin Fest" put on by the school's PTO. They worked for
weeks getting pens, light switch covers, votives, jewelry, beads ready
for the sale. They made $83, which I considered to be a substantial
sale! While they were preparing for the sale, we found out we were
moving and we postponed the move until after the sale so they wouldn't
miss it.
Surprisingly, they were not the only kids
there doing polymer. There was one table doing pens, another doing
little pokemon-type figures, and yet another doing beads and jewelry.
These were all done entirely by my daughter
Katie, who is 7 years old. Ginger
