The buttons made it to the guild, and the wreath got made even though there were some obstacles. One participant was really sick and had to get hers to the meeting via another member. Another stopped in for button dropping only, because she had a class she couldn't miss that same night.
I almost didn't make it at all. I was also sick, but had to come because I had the wreath and the denim and the pins, and the glue gun…..you get the idea. Well, my  car had no sympathy and decided to die on the way  there. To make a long story shorter, with the help of a friend and a nice looking policeman, I and my stuff got there just as the meeting was starting.
We ooohed and aaahed over everyone's buttons while Sandra covered the wreath with denim. All kinds of techniques were used. Molds, mica, paints, and TLS were just some of the things used. Abalone, malachite, mother of pearl, wood, and turquoise were some of the faux techniques displayed.
Then we arranged the buttons on the wreath and glued them in place. The digital camera didn't make it there but I had brought my 35 mm and a close-up lens, so I took pictures. We lucked out and the camera did have film in it and the pictures turned out great.
So despite all the obstacles our wreath was a success! We had so much fun doing this that the members of our guild, the Austin Polymer Clay Guild, voted to do a virtual swap each  month with a different theme.  Next month we are doing masks.
