The e-mails really roll in around here. Everyday, we receive comments, suggestions, and questions from you, our readers. As often as practicable, I try to personally answer each of your e-mails. I'd like to share some of your messages and hope it will inspire others to write to us. Send e-mails to: Publisher@pcPolyzine.com.

I just glanced at the May issue and I had to write!! I love your article on the uses of butterfly wings, especially the bowls. (I bet a billiard ball would work too.) I am new to clay and am trying to master the wing designs. When I finally get it, I will have something really neat to make with them. Thanks a bunch!! -- Donna H.

Thanks, Donna. Aren't those butterfly wings just gorgeous? Alan Vernall is so very talented, and on top of that, he is always willing to share his techniques. What a guy! Thanks for writing.

Hi Jeannie,

I have checked on the article and all I can say is that it is FANTASTIC!!!!! You did a wonderful job and I am very pleased. Thank you again for contacting me. I have received one inquiry for a custom order, but I am sure there will be more to come. Thank you again I really appreciate you doing the feature.

 Sincerely,

"gone to the dogs"

Sheryl Morrow

Gosh, Sheryl, I'm blushing. It's you who deserves the thanks for being so willing to share your "puppy" art with us. I know the readers enjoyed the article and I am hoping they will flood your mailbox with custom orders. I am posting the address here so they can write to you: smorrow1@mindspring.com.

Hi Jeannie,

I'm enjoying Polyzine, and appreciating your hard work... in a 3 by 3 space, no less! Would you be able and willing to include the ability to have an Adobe Acrobat version of the issues? I have a lot of past issues saved, and like to refer to them as needed. Thanks! -- Bonnie

Oh Bonnie, I'm such a ditz! I promised to have the PDF versions available by last month and I still can't quite tweak it just right. Please give me another MONTH and maybe I'll have it all figured out. Thanks. Jeannie

Hello

I am emailing you to hopefully find some ideas. I love polymer clay and have been using it for about 3 years now. I would really love to turn my hobby into a business. Any suggestions would be so helpful. Thanks. -- Michelle L

Why, Michelle, what a coincidence that you would ask. (Now tell the other nice readers that we aren't related and that I didn't put you up to asking that question).

If you check this month's article about It's All About the Clay, our brand new newsletter, you'll see that we'll be providing monthly tips and information on turning your polymer clay hobby into a business, or as I like to say, "how to make the clay pay!"

We're featuring home-based business guru Barbara Brabec and if she can't help you, I don't know who can. She's terrific and I've used her personal consulting services with my own business.

Good luck to you in your endeavors.

Would you please update our address on: http://www.pcpolyzine.com/guilds.html to www.scpcg.org? Thanks very much!

Hello,

I am the new webmaster for the Greater Atlanta Polymer Clay Guild. I notice that you have a link to our site. I just wanted to let you know that we have a new web address. It is: http://www.gapcguild.com. Please correct your link when you have a chance.

Regards,

Janet Stevenson
Webmaster, GAPCG

Dear Clay Guild Goddesses -

Your addresses are updated and corrected.

Hi Jeannie,

I love your online magazine! It's so informative and inspirational. Congratulations!

I'm not in any guild right now, but there's one in Atlanta that I'm thinking of joining. And on another yahoo group, I got an email saying that they may have to cancel the EoPC conference. I couldn't make it to San Diego, but if they'd just move it to the southeast, I'd be cooking!!

Oh, your subscription newsletter sounds exciting, and a bargain at 12 bucks a year!

Thanks again for all you poly do,

allison

Hi Allison -

I sure hope you are enjoying those books you bought from me online. Now let's sort through your comments: First, thanks for saying nice things about pcPolyzine. Next, look at the letters right above yours in this column and be sure you have the correct contact information for the Atlanta Guild. As for the EoPc conference being cancelled, we should know for sure in just a few days. Let's hope things will proceed as planned. I'm sorry you can't make it to San Diego -- I can't either, but we'll have our chance next November. ClayQuest 2005 is being held in, ta-dah! - Georgia, so I hope to see you there.

Oh, and as for the subscription newsletter...tell everybody we're not related, either, OK?

Great to hear from you. Talk to you soon!

Jeannie-

Thanks so much for including the Philadelphia Guild’s retreat in PC Polyzine. The only <blush> problem is that the link from your web page to your application form does not work. I think I know what the problem is. The link should read:

http://www.philadelphiapolymerclayguild.com/retreat-application.shtml

The link in PC Polyzine reads:

http://philadelphiapolymerclayguild.com/retreat-application.shtml
(note- the www. has been left off.)

Hope you can fix it and thanks again!!

Sheesh! How did I omit such an obvious thing? I guess I need to burn a little less midnight oil and maybe get my glasses checked. Thanks for pointing out the mistake. It's all fixed now (I hope).

Dear Dear friends,

I visited Polyzine today and I enjoyed a lot all the articles and infos as well as the useful tips from Mr Alan Vernall, I have to thank him so much! I’d like to e-mail him directly since we are in the same side of the world!

I’d also like to share with you some of my latest creations and ask some infos about how I can sell them on the net in order to raise some cash and go to the San Diego convention witch is my dream but I do not believe would never be true since only the tickets from Rhodes cost $1200.- not mentioning all the other expences. I just aquired a scanner so I can share some scanshots with you.

Thank you for your help.

I’d also like to get into ClayPlayPals But I cannot log in that address. Thank you again.

Greek polyholic

PS - The lace pendant is with silver wire and finding, I think that clay deserves some better handling. Sorry for any inconvenience cause by the attachment some with the scan installation, the computer man is going to fix it. See you on line. Thank you for your kindness.

Dear, Dear Helen -

Good to hear from you again from Greece. I have forwarded your email to Mr. Alan Vernall and I am sure he will contact you. I have posted one of your clay pieces in our new Gallery. It is truly beautiful. Unfortunately, I was unable to open the other image, but send it to me again and I'll be sure it's in the Gallery next month.

PS - The address for joining the Clay Play Pals Yahoo Group is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Clayplaypals/join.

Hi Jeannie,

Did I give you the info that I'm teaching a polymer clay class on the third Sunday at Michaels on Bee Caves Road in Austin? This will be a monthly class and they can either call the store or contact me at: pbarnes@the-i.net.

The San Antonio Polymer Clay Guild will be holding a joint meeting with the San Antonio Bead and Ornament Society on July 24th. We will be making some unique beads and the SABOS group will be teaching how to string them.

The South Texas Polymer Clay Guild has just completed their first swap of black, white and gray beads. It was a huge success! We will be doing more swaps in the future. (Jeannie, I can take a quick photo of mine that I strung together of everybody's' beads if you are interested.)

Patty [Barnes]
Vice-president
South Texas Polymer Clay Guild
President, San Antonio Polymer Clay Guild

Well, Miss Patty, now the whole polymer clay world knows about your classes and the San Antonio joint clayers and beaders meeting. And if you'll look at the article called, "Guild Swaps," you'll see your beautiful black, white and gray beads. Thanks for sending me the photos. I want to make a necklace like yours, too.

I can't seem to find any information on the Elberhart globes you mentioned in your ezine. Can you send me information on how to buy one please.

[Regarding] Haunted Toilet Snow Globe, by Garie Sim. He mentions that "Elberhart globes are best in quality." Now, I searched the web for this so that I could purchase and came up empty - do you think you could get me the source (addy or the phone number) so that I can access them? It would be much appreciated. Kind regards.

Ron H

OK, I think I've finally figured out why we keep getting so many letters about these globes. It's E-B-E-R-H-A-R-D, not Elberhart. There must be a typo in the original article. Which reminds me, I still need to find time to make corrections in all the issues prior to my acquiring the ezine. If you know of any, drop me a note. Thanks.

In the meantime, here's the information on the globes again: Eberhard Faber Toy Globes available at http://www.garieinternational.com.sg/

[Regarding the May 2004 issue]

Great articles! I really enjoyed reading them.

Kathy

Dear Kathy - Sometimes a lot can be said in a few words. Thanks.

Now, one more time for all you soon-to-be brides and grooms looking for those Custom Wedding Cake Toppers we featured in the January 2004 issue -- we do not make the cake toppers here at pcPolyzine (although with as many requests as we get, I sure wish we did). The artist who does is Lisa Calhoon and you can contact her directly at: http://www.RightBrainCreations.com.
