Creativity
has always been a part of my life. Counted cross stitch, beadwork,
photography
and creative writing are all things I love. Stained glass is also close
to my heart but so far I haven't gotten far with it. Maybe I'll clay
those
patterns. When in a craft shop one day, my roomie and I came across a
woman
showing cane slices for sale. When next I looked up, it was hours
later,
and I was (happily) hooked. Polymer clay has been a form of therapy and
a creative outlet for me. During hard times, it's easy to forget for
awhile
while creating something beautiful. |
Community
service has also been a large part of my life. Membership with my
guild (San Diego Polymer Clay Guild) has helped me stay involved. We
are
involved with several programs and we provide free demonstrations for
the
county fair, bead shows and the like. We're also active with the
Bottles
of Hope program, which means a lot to me. I've lost loved ones to
cancer
and I know a BOH would have brightened their days. (see article this
month
on BOH) |
I
have three grown children and three beautiful grandsons. One day, I
turned
into my mother, but I don't remember when that happened. Probably about
5 1/2 years ago when my oldest grandson was born. |

Personal Note from the Publisher:
The longer I work with
Kim, the more I realize how dedicated she is to pcPolyzine. Prior to 2004, she held
the position of Managing Editor, and I wonder if we'd even have an
ezine today if it were not for Kim.
Do we work well together? Hmmm. I'd say YES 99.999999% of the time.
However, a little known fact: Kim and I were born just 3 days apart
under the astrological sign Taurus. Now, maybe you believe in that
stuff and maybe you don't, but let's just say, when it's good between
us, it's good and when it's not, it's two freight trains colliding.
Fortunately, we live on opposite coasts -- yes, pcPolyzine is created by a
"virtual" staff -- but back to Kim and me and our relationship. She is
one of the most loving, caring, nurturing, and supportive women I have
ever known. She is always there for me even when we have our
creative differences . I have a special place in my heart for her and I
hope she knows that. Thank you Kim, for how you put up with me
and still make sure we stay friends.
PS - Don't tell anyone, but we are scheduled for Couples Counseling as
soon as we finish this issue.
