Day
of the Dead Skull Cane
A Tutorial - Page Two

When the food processor has chopped up the clay enough it
will roll itself into a ball that looks like this. It picks up all the
stray noogies and getting the clay out of the processor is not a
problem.
If
your clay is not adhering to itself like this then it is too dry. Add
diluent or some mineral oil and give it another whirl in the processor.
If you've not seen this tool in my other tutorials check
it out. A traditional potter's tool called a kidney. Costs about
$1.00US.
Get
the metal one, then take a whet stone and sharpen the straight edge
like a knife. You can use it to cut, to pick up bits, pry off items
from ceramic tiles after curing. Check it out.
Now, let's begin to build the
skull cane.
Publisher's Note: This cane has many steps. At this
point, please proceed to Nora Jean's website to continue the tutorial.
You will see some of the steps there that you've seen here. Just
continue in the sequence that will result in the exact type of
cane you want. There are variations in colors and design. Only you can
choose how you want your finished skull cane to appear. Here is the
