Cat recently combined
her love
of
polymer clay with her keen business sense in the form of an eBay store.
Just like most everything else about Cat, this online venture is
"family-centric." Her husband, Allen, is her business manager. "He guides
me in
all the marketing and financial aspects of the business," says Cat. "My daughter,
Margo, is my webmistress. She maintains the website and the eBay store,
packs
shipments, wraps canes, and is the best organizer! In addition,
she and
Allen are my design consultants. They have a great eye for design
and
really influence the finished pieces that we occasionally make."
So what
does the future hold
for the Peoria (Illinois) Polyclay Powerhouse? Cat matter of factly
reports that her "5-year goals are to continue with the store
on
eBay, expanding to 20 categories; add a catalog of special
finished pieces for sale on my website; increase the frequency of
the
tutorials I write, both online and in print; begin teaching again, at
both
the local and national level; attend at least one national polymer
clay event per year; and I'm seriously considering co-authoring a polymer
clay book."
Wow, Cat!
If anyone can accomplish
all those things, I know you sure can. I have absolute faith in you to
knock out that "To-Do" list with time to spare. Just keep us posted
here at the ezine on your continuing climb to polyclay fame and fortune!
