In this new feature, we will show you how to use polymer clay to make one-of-a-kind greeting cards, gift tags, and bookmarks.  For some projects, you might want to use polymer clay for creating unique embellishments. For projects such as this month's gift tag, polymer clay is the primary material. In each issue of pcPolyzine, we'll show you how to fashion quick and clever projects that were once thought of as purely paper crafts. The finished design is versatile -- add texture to some of layers and cut them out with decorative edge scissors. Use shape cutters, tiny balls of clay, push molds, a stylus, and myriad tools to create your own personal designs.
Materials, tools and equipment to make our quick and easy gift tag:
· Polymer clay in your choice of colors ( we used Sculpey III Tomato Red, French Blue, Vanilla Cream)
· Pasta Machine
· Texture sheet
· Shape cutters
· Decorative edge scissors
· Double end ball stylus
Step 1: Condition and roll out clay on #3 setting, adding texture to one of the sheets. Determine finished size of tag and cut base piece of clay to this size with decorative edge scissors.

Step 2: Again, using decorative edge scissors, cut a sheet of clay in a different color that measures at least one-quarter of an inch smaller than base sheet on all sides.

Step 3: Use shape cutters to cut out stars in two sizes and two different colors. (Only larger, white stars shown here. Use a slightly smaller shape cutter to make blue stars).

Step 4: Layers both sheets of clay and add large stars, placing a small star on top of each one. Form small balls of clay in a different color and press on top of stars using ball stylus. Punch hole in top with shape cutter and add your choice of ribbon.
