Chevron Cane

  • two contrasting colors of clay
Use the contrasting colors of clay to make a striped cane.
Once you have the striped cane, cut it so you are working with a square.
Place the cane striped side up, and cut diagonally from the bottom left to the top right.
You will have two triangles.
Put the triangles back together so they form the original square.
Take the left triangle and flip it upside down. The clay will still be square, but the stripes will flow in opposite directions.
Press the two triangles together firmly to form the chevron.
If your original striped cane is large, you can create a variety of geometric forms.

As you press your triangles together to form a variety of shapes, you will need to cut off a lot of clay to get the cane back into a square or a rectangle.
